Learning Spanish Imperfecto

Imperfecto = describing actions was already in progress, and other actions suddenly occured.


Maria observaba la defensa cuando de pronto Lea marco un gol
Maria was obserbing the defense when suddenly Lea scored a goal.


Estar + gerund (v-ing)

Estaba hablando con Ana cuando empezó el juego.
I was talking with Ana when began the game. (I was talking with Ana when the game began)

el campo aun estaba mojado cuando llego el equipo.
the field still was wet when arrived the team (the field was still wet when the team arrived)

cuando comenzó el segundo tiempo, aun estábamos hablando.
when started the second season, still we were talking. (when the second half started, we were still talking.)

éramos = ser  type to be, estábamos = estar type to be

éramos un equipo estupendo

we were a fantastic team

diez mil personas os veian mientras jugabais.
ten thousand people you(plural as object) they watched while you(plural as subject) were playing. (ten thousand people were watching you while you were playing)

Durante el primer tiempo marcamos solo un gol.

during the first half we scored only one goal.
